n (Principal): The state or city (Energy Level/Shell)
l (Angular Momentum): The street (Sublevel Shape: s, p, d, f)
mₗ (Magnetic): The house number (Orbital Orientation)
mₛ (Spin): The resident in the house (Spin up or down)

1. Principal Quantum Number (n)

This number describes the main energy level, or shell, of an electron. It indicates the size of the orbital and its distance from the nucleus.

Allowed values: Positive integers (1, 2, 3, ...)
How to find it: It corresponds to the period (row) number on the periodic table. For 3p⁴, n=3.

2. Angular Momentum Quantum Number (l)

This number defines the shape of the orbital within a shell. It's also known as the azimuthal or sublevel quantum number.

Allowed values: Integers from 0 up to (n-1).
Shapes:
- l=0 is an 's' orbital (sphere)
- l=1 is a 'p' orbital (dumbbell)
- l=2 is a 'd' orbital (clover/complex)
- l=3 is an 'f' orbital (more complex)

3. Magnetic Quantum Number (mₗ)

This number describes the specific orientation of an orbital in 3D space. It tells you how many distinct orbitals of a particular shape exist within a sublevel. For any given sublevel 'l', there are (2l + 1) possible orientations.

Allowed values: Integers from -l to +l, including 0.
Example: For a 'p' sublevel (where l=1), the possible values for mₗ are -1, 0, and +1. This means there are three 'p' orbitals, each with a different orientation along the x, y, and z axes (pₓ, pᵧ, and p₂).
For a 'd' sublevel (l=2), mₗ can be -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, meaning there are five 'd' orbitals.

4. Spin Quantum Number (mₛ)

This number describes the intrinsic angular momentum of an electron, a property that makes it behave as if it were spinning. This spin creates a tiny magnetic field. Two electrons in the same orbital must have opposite spins, a concept known as the Pauli Exclusion Principle.

Allowed values: Only +½ (spin up) or -½ (spin down).
This means that no two electrons in an atom can have the exact same set of four quantum numbers.
